Fellowship Fund

The Fellowship Fund

Ponte Vedra Presbyterian Church has established The Fellowship Fund, a ministry and mission that is governed by a Board of Deacons.  The purpose of the Fund is to provide temporary or emergency financial assistance to needy members of the Ponte Vedra Presbyterian Church family.  It is not intended to serve as a long-term income substitute or rent/mortgage subsidy, but rather is targeted to provide a modest amount of financial relief to PVPC family members who are experiencing a one-time or short duration economic hardship, typically caused by medical emergencies, casualty losses, and the like.  This mission finds its origin in several places in the Bible, including Chapters 2 and 4 of Acts and Chapter 6 of Galatians.

Financial assistance is often made in the combination of a grant and a non-interest-bearing loan.  Applicants are frequently referred to a Christian-based financial coaching program.  Applications for aid are made in hard copy only and are welcomed from any person who

·      is a member of the church,

·      regularly attends the church,

·      is an employee of the church, or

·      is a regular volunteer at the church

A downloadable copy of the application can be accessed by clicking here.  Paper copies of the application can also be picked up from a bin at the Connection Center at the church.  The signed, completed application can be mailed to the attention of the Fund at the Church address. The Fund also invites referrals by third parties of names of those who they believe would merit financial assistance—likewise these may be mailed to the Fund at the Church.

All applications and other information are treated confidentially.  The Fund records, including check ledgers, are maintained separately and securely.  A duplicate set of financial records, with identifying information deleted, is provided to the Church’s financial secretary.

Donations to the Fellowship Fund are always needed—please indicate “Fellowship Fund” on the check or in a note attached to the donation.
