Women's Ministry

The PVPC Women’s Ministry seeks to provide an environment for women to grow in their personal relationship with Christ through a deeper understanding of God’s love, acceptance and transformational power. Our theme verse for 2010-2011 speaks of patience and trust - what we need most in the middle of a difficult season.  Yet we are so quick to run ahead of Him.  What He calls us to do is pray wait and trust.

Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” (Psalm 27:14)

Our Goals and Values

MINISTER Christ’s love to the women in the church so they will desire a vital love relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
MEET each woman’s needs and provide opportunities for Christian growth for women of all ages, interests and backgrounds.
BUILD close personal friendships that are uplifting and glorifying to God.
ENCOURAGE the women in the church to grow in their faith and spiritual maturity.
EQUIP the women in the church to minister in their church and community.
PROMOTE an attitude that encourages women to attempt new ventures in ministry.

Prime Timers
Designed for our Seniors, specifically 60 and older. This enriching ministry is to build lasting friendships and glorify God by letting His Son shine through– not only to our church body, but also as an outreach to our community. Prime-Timers will consist of a variety of larger monthly gatherings and also smaller interest groups.

Faith Friends
The premise of Faith Friends is from God’s commandment in Titus 2. This ministry pairs two women together for a season (at least 6 months) to cultivate a nurturing relationship that provides encouragement and equipping to live for the purpose of God’s glory. Each Faith Friend pair is asked to meet together at least every other week — for coffee, lunch, an evening — whatever works for their schedules. Time is spent sharing each other’s lives as well as talking about their relationship with the Lord and what He has been teaching them. There are resources available for them to keep their discussions on track. Each pair of Faith Friends truly become “Sisters in Christ” with a common bond like no other. To become a Faith Friend email clee@pvpc.com

Best Foot Forward (BFF)
This is a monthly gathering for dinner and encouragement for divorced women. They meet on the third Thursday of each month. No charge and there is childcare provided with a reservation. For more information contact Kellie at 703-6194.
